2011

Today, it finally started to warm up...good thing...Matt got a flat going out on New Year's Eve...so was calling into work to let them know he would be late...only to be called back 5 minutes later...they decided to close the restaurant...the weather was so bad....so he changed the tire, and went to his girlfriends....which was closer then home. Then yesterday, on the way home...he gets a second flat...Steven thinks the spare was underinflated...and the tires were bad...so it caused it to just blow.....So today was spent taking tires off, taking them into the store, then putting tires back on...thankfully the bitter cold was not there...nor the wind!!!! And now I feel better about him having good tires on the car....my checkbook is not liking it.

As promised...here is this weeks post....first, I needed a Guy card...so this was quick.

Most of you know I'm not a big fan of coloring...so this is a good card for me!!!
Next...I pulled these out of my pile...they were from a past swap!!!

I need to finish up class projects for after Leadership...and then get gifts for my roomates done, and swaps....Spent too much time reading Harry Potter today!!!

Ahhh...vacation....

I love my job....have no problem getting up in the morning and going in....but it sure is nice to have 5 days off!!! Today I've been puttering...something I haven't had the luxury of doing in a while. Started by running into Falcon and doing a couple of errands, then back home for a soup lunch (it's a soup kinda day!!!) I had it set in my mind to work on the Boys rooms...but can only take so much of that at a time...so I work for a while, then come down to my office and do some little task, then back up to tackle the mess upstairs. Why is it when you are swapping out rooms...it always looks way worse before it gets better!!! Anyway...have one bookcase moved and done...and the other is half empty. Cleaned out the heat ducts...they were so full of dust and dead flies...Yuck!!!

Thought I would share a bit more from my pile of past projects....

These are from Rocky Mountain Inkslingers, probably the October meeting....the little Treat Holder was done by Theresa, and the Paris card was a belated b-day card from Linda.

These are from my Halloween Mailbox...the Cat was from Abbey, and the Spider was done by Isabelle. Too much fun!!!

Busy Pre Convention

Not sure how much I will get to post on here over the next week, as I wrap up all sorts of things, getting ready for Convention!!! Here is a card I found that I did for Mother's Day and never posted!!!

I sure do love these cordoroy brads...hope they have more in the upcoming Mini's!!!

I did get a call the other night...from Stampin' Up! asking if I could "Pretty Please" fill in for a Make & Take Helper at Convention....so now starts the slippery slope to craziness!!! I will try and post my swaps....which again...thank you Dee!!! But if you don't hear from me in the next few days...know that I am just getting things ready...oh on top of all this, they have added more hours at work...which is a good thing...but now I have to be even more organized!!! I will be taking my Netbook with me to Convention....so I hope to do a few posts there!!! Cathy

Calmer Winds

Today was absolutly beautiful out!!!! Not too much wind, warm and sunny, with those big cotton candy type clouds!!! I loved it....

I may get a few more days on the Census...my crew Leader made it sound like there were some people not wrapping their cases up in a timely manner, so I think she may transfer some to me to wrap up.....Gee, isn't it called WORK for a reason!!!! They have also put me on the next Phases list to call back. The work is interesting and the pay is good.....wish it were a permanent job.

I am in love with the 2-Step Bird Punch. Even though it's not in the current Mini Catalog, you can still get it...it's #117191, and cost is $15.95.

Easter Prep Day...

Been running all morning trying to get last minute things for Easter!!!! Brr!!!!....it's cold out there after the last few days of warmth...and windy...yuck!!! WalMart was out of most candies...which was propbably just as good, cause we really don't need that here!!!! Was cleaning off my desk and came across some Valentines cards.....so needed to get them posted on here!!!!

This one is from one of my Stamping Friends, Melissa Keese....I love the pink paper on the bottom...it is shimmery...the scan doesn't do it justice!!!

This one is from my dear friend Phyllis Parker....she used the Love Bandit set out of the Occassions Mini....this is such a fun set!!!

And then who doesn't love House Mouse....this one was from another dear friend, Donna Loughridge.
I plan to do better and get my cards I recieve on here...I have a ton of Easter ones...but the are all up on the sideboard right now, as I didn't get too many decorations out this year!!!

Another Catch Up Sunday!!!!

It was another one of theose catch up days!!!! To start...on Friday afternoon, we lent our truck to our son-in-law for the weekend as they were moving some furniture. Well, I get a call at dinner time....and I hate calls that start with...we've had a little problem.....Ouch.....fortunatly it doesn't seem like too big of a problem....The truck broke down, Steven was on his way to Poker Nite up in Monument...So I went on out to the truck(fortunatly it wasn't too far away!!!!) and got all of the faluables out of it...Garmon and tools, as the police called and warned us not to leave the Garmon in it or it would get broken into.....I had an all day stamp event yesterday, but Steven was able to determine what he thought was wrong...and cars are so complex now...he just couldn't get to the part to fix it. So this afternoon, we carefully drove it over to our mechanics....and hopefully it won't be to painful to fix...at least we were able to save the towing cost!!!

Got caught up on all sorts of things....as I have a busy week....Class tomorrow nite, with a job interview in the AM, Red Hat event on Tuesday. Dr appointment Wednesday AM, Taxes in the afternoon....and something in the evening. Thursday and Friday I have Stamper's 10, and a workshop on Saturday....and Stamp group on Sunday....so if I get my swaps and project done it will be a miricle!!!!

Then I go to make Dinner.....I had thrown a bread mix in the bread machine...Yumm....it smelled so.....yummy. Was making a Beer Cheese Soup...but when I went to get the cheese out...it was half gone....My free ranging son.....and that is the 2nd time I have replaced the cheese.....I was so mad!!!! I told him...next time...he is walking down to Safeway...and getting me my ingredient....I don't care when it is when I realize it is gone!!!! Fortunatly I had some Velvetta...but I'm sure it would have been soo....much better with the proper cheese!!!!

WEll....with all that is going on...I didn't get much finished up to post....but here is a card I did for Valentines....I know...I'm a little late...

Long Day....

It seemed like a very long day today....Not sure why!!!! I ran errands in the morning....then had a field day in Target. I was after a turkey roaster....Last Easter...I was baking a carrott cake the day before Easter...for Easter Dinner...and my oven went up in flames....We never did figure out what was up. I put the cake in and in about 5 minutes...found it burnt to a krisp. Then I was in a panic as we were hosting Easter dinner...and I was afraid to put a ham in the oven....so we went to about every store in Colorado Springs ...looking for a Roaster...and no one had them...I guess they only come out at Christmas....so this year I'm prepared.....got my roaster!!!! Oh...the oven worked perfectly Easter morning!!! Go figure!!!!

Thought I would do a Sneek Peak for my project and swap for Saturday...

I
Got an E-mail from Stampin' Up!...my Certification for My Digital Studio went thru...so I am Official....have been having so much fun with it!!!!Stop by and I will give you a demo!!
Here's what I've been workign on today....

It's similar to one in the catalog...except I made a window sheet cover. Thought I would do a Blog Give away!!!! Leave me a comment....and I will draw for a set of the tags next Tuesday!!! Check back to see if you are a winner...and I will get it off to you!!!

Yesterday was our Matchbox class....For those that missed it...it was fun...and I added a project last minute....I was playing around with some new toys on Friday...and did this matchbox that was in the Occasions Mini..and thought it would be fun to add to the ones we were doing for the class!!! I just love the Embossing folder...it is so detailed!!!!

Well...since today is kinda a lazy day...I'm gonna go play some more....Enjoy!!!

I love the chatter!!!!

I've been loving reading all of your comments!!!! AND it's time to do another give-away!!!! So lets shake it up and make this one a little different then past ones. SOO....To thank you for peeking in on my blog today and everyday, and as a BIG Thank You, I will draw 2 names out of everyone that makes a comment from now until....OH...let's say...Halloween, October 31. There is a requirement...Your comment should have your name, a good friends name, and your favorite color...here is what will happen. I will pick 2 comment winners, and each will recieve one of the stamps in the following photo. PLUS I will mail your friend a handstamped card. This is where your favorite color comes in, the card I make for your freind will be in your favorite color...so you want to see the stamps that will be given away???? Here they are....and yes, the water bottle is included with each of the stamps.....the winners will find out what the water bottle is all about when they get their prize. When the winners are announced....I will need you to e-mail me your address, and your friends address.

I haven't been posting on here as much as I would like. A few weeks ago...Steven dropped his camera...and he has been using mine until he could get the new one....and every time I would need to take pictures so I could post....there was no camera around....Well...today, Mr Fedex dropped off a package...and his new camera came!!!! It's basically the same camera as mine...just a newer version...so since he is prone to dropping cameras....he decided to take the older one, and give me the new one...which does better videos....WooHoo...and it is Rich Razzelbery in color!!!!

Was a busy day today. I am planning this big downline event...so went and looked at a possible room to use for the event...went to the post office....and then I actually had time to work on projects that have been piling up. Here's a cute Halloween decoration...Actually I cased it out of the current catalog!!!!

And here is a Christmas present...I used non-SU papers as I was trying to use up some old stuff I had....but it came out kinda nice!!!

Halloween Fun

Just thought I'd post a few pictures of the workshop I did Saturday....in the yucky weather. Stamping was a good way to spend an icy day!!!!

All of my workshops for October have a Halloween theme.....so the first project was a cute little treat holder....

Then our Hostess, Lisa asked to see the Shimmery Paint that is in the Holiday Mini.....I had just gotten some of it...so it gave me a great chance to play with it.....

With this one, I simply daubered some onto the Florish Stamp...and then stamped it....so easy...it gets darker as it dries.

With this one, I had used the Embossing Folders with the Big Shot...and it just needed a little more..."glitz" to make it special...so a lightly daubered some of it onto the flower image....that really make it stand out....the pictures don't do well , but it is a neat product!!!

Don't forget to post a comment for a chance to wind one of the Owl Kits!!!!

First...lets finish up the Crop-a-Latte stuff....here are the Make-N-Takes I did....I love the little pumpkin one....I can't take credit.. My friend Paula designed these for our booth this spring...I just changed the colors....they were quick and easy!!!!
This was my swap last night at Rocky Mountain Inkslingers...the theme was to use punches or die cuts. I just love Miss Bella Bear....she makes the cutest Halloween Witch!!!! I will get the Projects I did, and the swaps I got, on tomorrow.!!!! Get those posts posted if you want a chance at my contest!!!
