Happy Memorial Day

Hoping everyone had a Blessed Memorial Day....we don't give thanks to our Veterans, and those who keep us safe, and protect  ALL of our freedoms, enough.  Had a barbeque here yesterday with family...first Hamburger/hotdog grill of the season...yuumm!!!  Today we did our annual visit to Territory Days in Old Colorado City.  Walked around, and then had lunch at BonTons, which we do every year.  Came home and realized we were fried from the sun, and took naps...so all in all, a good holiday weekend!!!

This evening, I'm working on the last of the cubbies, and then I will be starting to put out Discontinued Product for my Pre-Garage Snail Sneak Peek.  Since I can't actually sell anything until June 1....and my Garage Sale is June 2, if you want to come and tag items to purchase, you can do that on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday of this week.    Just contact me to be sure I am around when you come by.  We will pull your items, and I will put your name on them...and I don't have to lug them over to Paula's for the Garage Sale.  Lots of great buys, everything is at least half off of what it was new.  I know alot of you said you couldn't make the Garage Sale....but if you can, there will be 9 other Crafters there with tons of good stuff!!!
Cubbies are all clean and moved..WooHoo!!!!

Garage Sale items....come and tag your items

And of course, some cards....These are swaps from our Stamping Day this month.
Kim made a very cute treat purse!!!

Not sure who's these two are, but great cards!!!

Moving Day.....

Whew!!!  Spent the better part of this afternoon, moving furniture around.  Got my workout today...but it's starting to look good!!!!  You never know for sure till it's all in place!!!!  Got the Armoire all cleaned out and moved, to it's not permanent location, but it needs to be moved so the rest can go where it needs to go.  Got shelving unit emptied, and moved to where the Armoire used to be.  Tomorrow will start work on the cubbies...they are the biggest mess, but they will go where the shelving unit used to be, to continue the wall of cubbies.  When I get them in place, will take pictures.  It sure is fun finding things you didn't know you had!!!!  Like Christmas!!!!

Actually got some classes worked on, and finished up my Earrings to my Black and White set.
Just put them on my Etsy shop....if they don't sell, will have another Christmas present!!!

OK...real quick here, let's do some cards!!!  First one is the project card I brought to do at the Stamp get together last weekend.

Was trying to use up some discontinued papers, but it came out really cute!!!!
This is a cute little favor, one of the Red Hat Ladies made for our places at Lunch this past month....There was chocolate in with the tea...but that didn't make it home!!!
And lastly, from my mail bag...a thank you from Kim...very nice!!!

I'm lovin' these projects!!!!

Spent the whole day working on Cubbies...but they ones on the North side of my Studio are  ...  DONE!!!! I am so happy.  See me doing the Snoopy dance.
They look pretty empty....lots going out to the garage sale, rest is boxed up, I will be moving the cubbies at the foot of the stairs over to the left of these, and will be reorganizing.  Lookin' good....now onto the shelving unit next to this...which is really a mess!!!!

Preppin' for the Garage Sale

As you all know...one of my Stamp Groups, RMI, does a Craft/Stamp Garage Sale every year.  This year it is June 2.  In the past our new catalog hasn't been released until July 1, so we haven't been able to sell the newly discontinued items...but this year with the roll-out happening a month early...I have TONS of stuff.  Not to mention, I never got thru all the stuff I had from the previous year...so I really have alot.  Have been putting my tags on everything....so, June2, at 5245 Twinkle Way, Colorado Springs. (Old Farm area off of Austin Bluffs)
Contact me if you need more information!!! Come on out...I need to sell as much of this as possible to defer the cost of Convention this year...and I really don't want to store it.  What doesn't sell will be out at my Annual Open House which is the following weekend, June 9.

Feelin' good...got all the 8 1/2 x 11 paper either put away, sorted, stored or ready to sell...now to work on 12 x 12!!!!  Top of the cubbie area is clean...now to tackle the actual cubbies!!!!

Thought I'd post a few pictures from last months RMI swap:
Kimberly did this one....love those corduroy buttons....wish we still carried them!!!!'

This is Carol's wonderful creation!!!

Not sure who did this one...but love it!!!!

Mid Week!!!!

I'm still on my cleaning kick...today, I came across a box of ribbon odds and ends....and thought, I haven't had a contest in ages....so, give me a comment on the end of this post, and some lucky lady, or gentleman, will get the contents of this jar of ribbon....I really stuffed it, so there are lots of long and short odds and ends!!!
Will have another drawing shortly, as I have tons of ribbon, and other great gifts!!!

I've had a few of you ask me how I made this quick little treat holder, and for the dimensions....so here is a real quick tutorial.
First you need to start with an 8 X 8" piece of card stock or patterned paper.  It is also easier to do if you have the Score Pal with the diagonal score plate.
Score thru the middle on the diagonal, and then score at 1 1/8", flip it around and score the other side at 1 1/8".  Now go to the other 2 corners, and score at 2 3/4", flip it and at 2 3/4".  This is what it should look like.  Fold your 2 triangles that you created last into the center.  Flip the thing over,  and then fold on the middle so that you have a mountain fold.  Fold up on the 2 narrow folds, punch a hole at the top, and tie with some ribbon...uses no adhesive, except for your embellishments. This is great for candy , coupons or gift cards!!!

Monday, Snowy Monday

Yes...we woke to snow...and snow showers on and off all day...very strange....at least the roads are warm...so it didn't stick....just looked weird!!!!

Lookin' GOOD!!!!  And my shelves and counter are staying clean!!!  Will tackle my punch and cutting area tomorrow, after I get back from museum and lunch with friends.

TGIS...Thank Goodness It's Saturday

Sleep in day!!!  Oh how I love my sleep.  Busy working on the guest room...went thru 3 bed frames before we found the right one for the headboard and foot board!!!!  Then off to Denver Mattress to get a new sleep set!!!  Nick helped Steven move it all upstairs...now I just need to dig out all the bedding, and move the dresser out of Nick's room and the small dresser out of the guest room and into Nick's closet.

Lots of news.  Nick got an offer for a Co-Op job for the fall semester in Austin Texas at AMD.  So it looks like we will be visiting Austin!!!! He's also taking on-line classes this summer at Clemson and MIT...my over achiever.

Here's some cards.  First one is from RMI swap in April.  Lovin' that Chabby Chic look.
The next two are from my mail box....

Valentines and Easter cards both from Phyllis!!!!

Thought I'd share a recipe....this is a wonderful dip I did for Dinner for 8 last month....it was so yummy!!!

Savory Three-Cheese Spread
8 oz. Cream Cheese, softened
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
3 slices smoked ham, finely chopped
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 Tbl. chopped red pepper
1 Tbl. sliced green onions

Spread cream cheese onto bottom fo 2 1/2 cup microwaveable dish.  Sprinkle with cheddar cheese, ham, and parmesan cheese.  Microwave on High 1 minute. Top with pepers and onions.  Serve with Ritz crackers...I could eat this all day!!!!  Enjoy!  Bon Apetite!!!

Well, off to work on the desk.  Got the top all cleaned off and half the window area.  I'm afraid to get into the drawers....I will be shredding till Chistmas!!!!

Thursday, May 3, 2012

It's almost Friday!!!

The carpet got put in in the upstairs guest bedroom yesterday...what a difference it makes!!!  so nice, now to get the furniture all moved back in, and we will have to get a new mattress.
It's a little dark in the picture, but these colors are really calming!!!  Went to Lowe's today and got the new door, so Steven will have to finish that off, then the mattress...off to Denver Mattress this weekend, so that Nick can help Steven move it in.

Finished up the base cabinets in my Studio last night.....Now I have 2 file bankers boxes of stuff to shred and one more black trash bag out to the trash man tomorrow.  Our new Trash service is gonna love us!!!!  Next I  need to tackle my old desk.  I moved my desk into the office next door, and the actual desk and window area  has become a catch-all.  Eventually I want to move it to under the other window, which will give me more room to get into the cubbies.

More cards!!!  First one is one I did for a project, and never ended up doing it, so thought I would post it here...maybe someone will do a swap this spring that I can use it for.

Love the Black and Ivory theme going on here.  Getting into the Chabby Chicke look.
This was the last of the projects we did at the stamp day at my house this past month.  Good manly card!!!
And lastly, was cleaning out my letter drawer, and thought I'd show off some of my mail.  This was a Christmas card from Phyllis.  I love the stocking punch!!!

It's May!!!!

Spent yesterday with family, my Aunt and Uncle are in Denver, as my cousin, April recuperates from knee replacement surgery, so they all came down for lunch yesterday...Along with David, Aprils hubby, had a great visit!!!  Love it when family comes....even though the house is all torn up....it's family.  But they called and the carpet for the upstairs bedroom, is being installed on Wednesday...WooHoo!!!!

Well, started on the drawers of my wall of built in's...and out of eight drawers....I had .....8 junk drawers....but not anymore, all nice and clean, and one more black trash bag out the door.  Trash man is gonna love me, and we start a new service this week...ooopppsss!!!!
Cabinets are next...which I dread...they have been the catchall of EVERYTHING!!!!  Oh and look, the counters and shelves are still clean!!!!

Had been craving Asparagus last week....Steven hates it....but I just love it, and this is the season for it, so I found some at WalMart of all places...and it was perfect.  Here's how I cooked it

Asparagus with Blue Cheese and Almonds
1 1/2 lbs. fresh asparagus spears
3/4 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup sliced green onions
1 tsp. dried tarragon
12 lettuce leaves
2 Tbl. crumbled bleu cheese
1 1/2 Tbl. toasted sliced almonds

1.  Snap off tough ends of asparagus.  Remove scales with a knife or vegetable peeler.
2.  Place broth in a large skillet.  Bring to a boil over med.-high heat.  Add Asparagus, green onions, and tarragon.  Reduce heat, and simmer, uncovered 6-8 min.  Remove from skillet using a slotted spoon.  Discard remaining broth.
3.  Arrange asparagus on lettuce, sprinkle with blue cheese and almonds...Enjoy!!!  Bon Apetite!!!

Had leftover tortilla soup for dinner...love chicken tortilla soup...but this had been frozen, and the chicken had turned blue from the black beans....so it was a bit strange, but tasty!!!!  Trying to use up all the leftovers from the past week of guests....so we just had Taco dip and fresh vegi's to go with it....sinfully good!!!

And now...I have to get some cards on here.....this is the last projects from this last months' Stamper's 10.  It was a sample card of the Acrylic Distress technique.
And these last 2 cards are from our club get together here, they were some of the project cards that we did.
