Way past time for a Tutorial!!!

Haven't done a Tutorial in a while...this is one of the 3-D projects I did as a swap at Convnetion!!!

It's a gum holder!!! This is really a fun, quick projct to make for a quick gift. Start with a piece of cardstock, color of your choice, cut 11" X 3".
Next you will want to score at 4 1/2" and the 4 1/2". 9 wELL A HAIR BEYOND 4 1/2" so it doesn't crunch when you fold it up.

In the first 4 1/2" section, you will want to punch your word window punch to give you your hole to slide your gum into.
On the 3 outside edges, you will want to place a strip of Sticky Strip...whenever you are making something that has a lot of foled pressure, you want to make sure you use sticky strip...it's the only thing that will hold!!!

Take off your red strips and fold your sleeve down...You are done the basic holder...now to decorate.
The front piece is 4" X 2 1/2" and you can decorate it any way you want.

I stamped a piece and did some layering...and made a piece that I layered and poped out to give it some texture and dimension.

Quick, Cute Tutorial

Thought I'd do a quick little Tutorial, for a Purse Gift Card....

Here is the front, and when you open it up....

There is a little slot for the gift card....

1-Start with a half sheet of card stock that is cut at 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" in your choice of color. Fold in half and then mark the open end in at 3/4" on each open side and draw a line down to to the folded corner:

2-Next, using the smaller template, cut an additional sheet of colored card stock for the gift card insert. Slide the word window punch in as far as it will go, and punch, and slide to either side and punch again until the slot is long enough to slide a gift card in. Adhear to either inside of the card with sticky strip on all four edges. Next cut a piece of your Designer paper with the same template, but cut 1/4" off of each side, and adhere to the opposite side of inside of card.

3-Cut a piece of matching card stock with the Large Scallop Die in your Big Shot. Fold in half, and with the small slot punch, clip just a small amout on either side of the folded side, so that you can slide the handle in. With the Large Circle from the Circles 2 Die, cut a piece of matching card stock, and then hand trim out the inside so that you have a 1/4" handle. Insert into slots and adhear, and then adhear to back side of card with Sticky Strip.

4-Punch a matching piece of paper with the Scallop Circle Punch, and adhear to front of purse. Punch a hole with your Crop-a-Dial, and insert a Flower Brad.

5-Cut a second circle with the largest circle in the Circle 2 Dies out of your Designer Paper, and cut in half, and adhear to inside of purse flap, to cover prongs of your brad. Insert your gift card and you are good to go!!! What little ... or Big girl wouldn't love this!!!

Quick Tutorial - Flip Out Album

Here are some quick instructions for making this cute little Flip Out Album.

This is another one of those ultra quick gifts you can make using one of the Simply Scrappin' Kits....I just love these, everything comes together so fast!!!

For this one I used "Cool Kids".
* To start....cut a piece of plain or textured card stock, 6 x 6". Layer a piece of coordinating designer paper from the kit cut at 5 3/4 x 5 3/4". This will be your base.
* Next taking one of the 12 x 12 pieces of card stock, score at 4 and 8 " and turn it and score at 4 and 8" again. Cut out each corner square, and you will have a plus sign ( + ) left. Attach to center of base, and then go to it with your pieces and parts from the Kit...

You may have to do a bit of adjusting to the finall folds, as adding the embellishments changes the shape of the overall project...but this is a quick easy gift. It can be decorated with photos, or quotes or journaling. Enjoy!!!
Click on the Catalog icon on the side bar to see what the kits look like...there are lots of catagories to choose from...and Click on On-Line ordering to order direct. If you live in the Colorado Springs, or east of the Springs area...call or e-mail me your order and save on shipping, as I always have orders going in. Thanks!!!

Time for another Tutorial...

This one's another simple one...but the card came out really cute...

You are going to start with your card base, and you want to punch a 1 3/4" hole in one side.

Layer your next color layer onto that, flip your card to the inside, and line up your punch with the previous hole, and punch again. The punches are not designed to punch more then one layer of cardstock at a time, especially Stampin' Up! cardstock as it is heavier.....

Keep adding layers until you have it the way you want it. I mounted my bird within the circle using a dimensional to accentuate the circle.

Baby Days!!!! A Tutorial and a Contest!!!

Today, I'm getting my baby Fix....ya need those every once in a while!!!! Puts things into perspective. I have Princess Emma for the day!!!! She has been so good....I was gonna rearrange my schedule and do errands tomorrow....but it was looking like the storm front that is due tomorrow was coming in early...so I decided to take her with me, and we'd run, at least the in town ones.....First we had to figure out the car seat.....Actually got all but two errands run...and I forgot the things I needed for those so will run to Falcon tomorrow and finish up before the storm!!!!

Thought I'd share a very short Tutorial....Do you not just LOVE this Designer Paper!!!! IT is so delicate...it is the Pawsitively Prints, (118060, $9.95) sold in the Mini's with Build A Bear. All of the prints are tiny so that it can be used with the Die Cut clothing...but I just love this flower print!!!! I wanted to show you how to do the Punch and Poke part of the card...You can use the Paper Piercing Tool and the Paper Piercing Mat.....or you can use the low tec version....
I use the Foam Craft sheets, a few layers....and I found these giant Push Pins...I just keep a few on my bulletin board, so I can always find them......After you punch the flower out, lay your paper on the Foam sheet and take the push pin and pierce your paper around....these are much easier to hang onto!!!!! Lets go ahead and do a contest too!!!! Since I have a whole container of both...we will draw from those of you that comment....for a set...I also have a whole basket of Old 3-D projects I've been saving for ideas...I mean for years...have been doing house cleaning...some are very old...but the ideas are still good, so I will throw a couple of these in too!!! WE are coming up on 6000 Hits to the Blog...can you believe it....so leave comments, and I will draw when we get to 6000!!!! Good Luck!!!

CD Purse Tutorial

I saw these done a while back...and wanted to do a class in them...but never got around to it...so thought it would make a good tutorial....My problem with tutorials...is, I forget to take the pictures as I go along.....Let's see how I did this time. I was in a store tht sold Vera Bradley the other day...and this kinda reminded me of their products....and I just love the Tea Party Designer Paper!!!

Start with 2 old CD's. I sliced off about 3/4" from each side, making sure your cut lines were parallel. To cut it I drew my lines with a Sharpie pen, then put it in my Paper Cutter, and scored it with the cutting blade along that line.

If you have a pair of blunt nosed plyers like these, it's easy to just snap off the smaller peice, and if any tiny pieces are left behind, you can chip away with the plyers....

Next cover with Designer Paper of your choice. I jsut used Snail to attach.

The bottom is cut from your Designer Paper at 2 1/2" x 3 3/4". Score it in half longways and then at 1/4" on all four sides. I then cut out each little corner.

Cut 2 of the sides. 2 1/2" x 3 1/4". Score down the middle lengthwise, and 1/4" on each long side.

Next you will start assembling. I used Sticky Strip on this part, as it holds much better. End to end attach, One side, bottom, then second side. Then attach Purse CD side to the bottom. I put the Sticky Strip in my 1/4" scored folded pieces.

Attach the other CD side to the other side of the bottom piece.

Bring all of your sides up and attach, it's starting to look like a purse!!!!

Use your Crop-a-Dial to punch four holes for your purse straps. Be carefull...I punched away before realizing that the other side had inserted itself into the other hole cutter in my crop-a-dial...and ended up with extra holes....so if you look real close you can see my patches.

Attach your ribbon handles.

And you are done....I made matching 3" x 3" notecards with envelopes to put into mine...but you could fill with candy, small gifts...they would make adorable party favors for a little girls birthday party!!! Enjoy!!!

Tutorial, and a Christmas Decoration.....

I know...I'm still way behind in catching up on my Christmas, New Years, and now Valentines projects.....There just isn't enough time in the day...and I'm not workin' right now....what gives????

This is a Christmas Banner I did using the Christmas Simply Scrappin' Kit in the current catalog....so much fun...and so easy!!!!

Next I have another tutorial to share.....

This was a quick and easy photo folder. The one I did was for my new Grandaughter, but depending on the Simply Scrappin' Kit you use...you can do them for holidays, or vacation trips...you name it.

To start, you take one of those simple business folders that have just pockets inside. It's hard to find white or manilla....and some of the colors are really bright....I got mine at Office Depot.

Next you want to turn it inside out....so that the pockets are on the outside....use your bone folder to re-crease the spine.

Then take each face, and fold it to the outside center,(the one you just creased) using the bone folder to make your crease.

All of your pockets should now be on the inside...with the outside being a solid cover.
That's it for construction. Next you take one of the Simply Scrappin' Kits...I used Moments and Milestones, since it was for my newborn gransaughter....but dependign on the event you are doing....you have lots of choices....these make it so quick and easy as they have designer paper, coordinating textured paper....and the die cuts are have adhesive on them already....I was having a blast decorating mine.

Oh...almost forgot...finish off with a ribbon to tie it all shut. I did little index cards for each month of her first year...to write milestones down....those go into the folders....so cute.

If anyone is interested in doing this as a class...we can do it where you pre-purchase the kits...and we can each custom do our folders.....let me know if you are interested...and we will get it on the schedule.

My first Tutorial!!!!

OK...I'm ready to do my first tutorial...I've picked a very simple card...I promise I will move to much more complex projects...I just wanted to get this down first!!!! I know so many of us are very visual, so I tried to break this up into as many steps as I could. So, for our first Tutorial, we will be making this great One of a Kind card.
SUPPLIES:
One of a Kind Stamp Set; #113624; $19.95
Paper:
Sahara Sand; 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
Not Quite Navy card stock; 5 1/2" x 1 3/4"
Bashful Blue card stock; 5 1/2" x 1 1/2";
scrap
Bone Folder
Bashful Blue Classic Ink Pad
Paper Snips
Snail Adhesive
1/16" circle punch
Flower Assortment Designer Brads
Pop up Glue Dots

First you will need to fold your base piece of Sahara Sand card stock in half.

Ink up your tri flower image in Bashful Blue Classic Ink, and stamp off once onto a piece of scratch paper, then stamp onto your strip of Bashful Blue card stock. You want a lighter image of the flowers, all over the strip of paper. Then ink up the "for you" stamp, and stamp, full strengh, onto the lower left corner of the same strip.

With your snail adhesive, layer this onto your strip of Not Quite Navy card stock. Mount this onto the front of the card base with your snail adhesive.

Ink up the large single flower image with Bashful Blue Ink, and stamp twice onto your scrap piece of Bashful Blue card stock.

Cut out with your paper snips.

Punch a hole in the center of each flower with your 1/16" hole punch, and insert your choice of color of the Flower Brads.

Mount those to front of card with a pop-up glue dot. Voila, a great card!!!!
