These little photo Albums are fun and easy to make....I left this one undecorated, as I wanted to get the directions out....but if you use the Simply Scrappin' kits to make them...the decorating part is so easy!!!!
Supplies
1/2 of a Simply Scrappin Kit
12" Paper Cutter w/both cutting and scoring blade
1/8" circle punch
Sticky Strip
Assorted ribbon
Cloth covered rubber band
bamboo skewer
wire
Velcro dots
additional card stock
Start by cutting a piece of 12" x 12" patterned card stock in half to make two 12" x 6" pieces. Cut 1/2" off the short end of both pieces so your final size is 11 1/2" x 6:.
Score your 2 pieces vertically at 4 1/2", 5", 9 1/2" and 10".
Use Sticky Strip to adhere both pieces together, matching along the score lines. Fold at creases to make album cover.
Make a pencil mark at 1" from the top and bottom edge of the 1 1/2 " flap. Make a diagonal cut from the mark to the first score line.
Put 2 pieces of Velcro dots onto the inside panel of the flap, evenly spaced and close the flap to create closure.
Punch a hole 1/2" in from the top and bottom edge in the middle of the spine of the album, using the 1/8" punch. The outer cover of your album is now complete!
Cut four 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" pieces of coordinating cardstock and fold each in half along the 8 1/2 " edge...like a card.
Stack the 4 pieces together and punch a hole 1/4" from the top and bottom edge at the fold using a 1/8" punch.
Cut the sharp point off the Bamboo Skewer to make a 5 3/4" stick.
Loop a cloth covered rubber band (little girl ponytail band)over one end and use a piece of wire to thread the rubber band through the hole in the spine of the album, and then through the 4 pages.
Pull the rubber band over the top end of the bamboo skewer. Your basic album is now complete!! Tie coordinating pieces of ribbon onto the bamboo skewer. Use a mini glue dot to anchor the 2 outer end pieces of ribbon to the bamboo.
Embellish the cover and inside pages using the self adhesive die cut shapes from the Simply Scrappin' kits and any other card stock/punches you desire. Your album is now ready for photos!!!!

ReplyDeleteOne question - is there a bamboo inside and outside and they are held together with the band?
No...the Bamboo lies on the outside spine...the band goes wraps agound...goes thru the spine hole, the page holes, along the crease, back thhru all the holes and around the bamboo...I will show youthe one I did...it's really simble...but you don't want to tight a band....hard to get thru everything!!!
